The Global Recycled Standard

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of Recycled Content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions while ensuring strict production requirements.

Shinsung J&T has been verified by the third-party, GRS- Global Recycled Standard.

Factories involved in the production of GRS certified products meet the fair labor and environmental impact requirements of the GRS.

Shinsung Textile made from ”Pre-consumer” or “post-industrial” (PIR) and “post-consumer” (PCR) may also be used to describe the recycled material. GRS certified products meet the fair labor and environmental impact requirements of the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).

 
 

 
 

The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI)

In 2005, a group of visionary organisations came together to work out a practical solution that would secure the sustainable future of the industry. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future.

BCI Farmers receive training on how to use water efficiently, care for the health of the soil and natural habitats, minimize the impact of harmful crop protection practices, preserve fiber quality and apply decent work principles.

Polygiene ViralOff®

is brand for a treatment of textiles and other products that reduces viruses by 99% in two hours, according to a standard ISO18184:2019 test. Its Technology reduces the environmental impact of a textile, saving time, water, and energy.

ViralOFF is the answer to an acute situation, but it will also be more long term solution that enhances the hygiene and protection factor on a number of products even when COVID-19 Pandemic has settled down. In the times of the novel Coronavirus, we see an enormous need for treatment with antiviral properties.

GOTS was developed by leading standard setters to define world-wide recognized requirements for organic textiles. It is worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent third-party certification of the entire textile supply chain.

From the harvesting of the raw materials, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing to labelling, textiles certified to GOTS provide a credible assurance to the consumer.

#Tide Ocean Material

The plastic waste we use in our production is from #tide which is upcycling ocean-bound plastic waste. The #tide material is registered, washed and shredded in a social enterprise which is being implemented by the Swiss non-profit Jan&Oscar Foundation and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Shinsung Textile produces recycled fabrics made of plastic waste. The plastic waste we use in our production is from #tide which is upcycling ocean-bound plastic waste. #tide organizes beach clean-ups, pay fair wages and comply with high ethical standards. A significant part of #tide’s revenue benefits these coastal regions where the social and ecological impact is of utmost importance.

Recycled Plastic Bottles Become Fiber. Repreve sources bottles across the globe in partnership with communities and Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs).

Shinsung Textile made from high-quality fibers are from Repreve 100% recycled materials, including post-consumer plastic bottles and pre-consumer waste. Certified and Traceable. Form the Fiber: Chip is melted into liquid polymer and extruded through tiny openings in a spinneret, creating continuous filaments that form REPREVE fiber.

The Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM) is a sustainability assessment tool that standardizes how facilities measure and evaluate their environmental performance, year over year.

Higg FEM informs manufacturers, brands, and retailers about the environmental performance of their individual facilities, empowering them to scale sustainability improvements.

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is one of the world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances.

In the test they take into account numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health.

The criteria catalog is updated at least once a year and expanded with new scientific knowledge or statutory requirements.
